It was hugely popular over the two weeks it exhibited at the gallery, with residents of all ages coming to see the beautiful diversity of local native wildlife that live in the Monash area.
More than 300 photos were submitted and displayed either in print or digitally. Patrons were amazed at the quality of photos taken by our residents which included an echidna, powerful owls, spiders, sugar gliders, kangaroos and many birds.
Sustainable Monash ran a series of events over the two weeks such as wildlife photography talks, a walk through Valley Reserve with the council Bushcrew, a Wayapa indigenous yoga practice, a recycling education session and a launch night which 130 photographers and family/friends came along to.
Residents of all ages coming to see the beautiful diversity of local native wildlife
By connecting the community with the diversity of wildlife in Monash the council hopes that local residents will see more value in protecting and enhancing their local environment and to support this is educating community about what actions can be taken, at home, to support wildlife such as the Gardens for Wildlife program and Nature Strip Planting program.
